Camp Scholarship Information
We rely on generous contributions to provide scholarships for campers. Scholarships become available as contributions are made. Please check back frequently as new scholarships become available. Now Accepting Applications for 2025 Kent Butler Scholarships
The Barton Springs-Edwards Aquifer Conservation District is seeking student applicants for five
scholarships to attend the five-day overnight Aquatic Science Adventure Camp at Texas State
University in San Marcos. These scholarships are worth $1,099 - the cost of attending one of these
camps.
These funds are part of the District’s annual Kent Butler Scholarship Program. Deadline to submit
your application is Friday, February 28. Winners will be announced by Friday, March 7. You can

Applicants can only receive a camp scholarship from the District once. Please do not apply if you
have won previously.
Scholarships are open to students ages 9 through 14 who reside in one of the school districts which
overlap the District's boundary including:
• Austin
• Del Valle
• Eanes
• Hays
• Lockhart
• San Marcos
• Wimberley
Interested students must submit the following to be considered:
1. Completed application form
2. One-page essay about why they want to attend the Aquatic Science Adventure Camp
3. Artwork that captures science and outdoor adventure (ex. scuba diving, caving, fishing, field
research, etc.) If done on paper, the artwork should be separate from the essay.
